What does termite activity look like?
Below are a few examples of termite activity. It is common to see termite activity on an exterior wall. Especially if your house is built on a concrete slab vs having a crawlspace. However, termites can find multiple ways into a home and their activity could go unnoticed for an extended period of time which would result in damage to the structure. Termite colonies are located underground and are active year round. The colony is completely dependent on the termite workers to bring resources back to the colony. So, the termites are always in a constant state of motion by leaving the colony and returning to the colony. Unlike an ant, termites will not travel without constructing shelter tubes. They will only travel within these tubes which indicates the area of activity and potentially their entry point.
Most people will not discover that they have termites until they see termite swarmers. A termite colony must be established for at least 2 years before they can produce swarmers.
